I Need Questions
No, you read that right. I need questions.
I'm thinking of either doing a weekly or monthly Q & A with Light of my Life and I need questions to ask her.
Now, I know my own kid pretty well AND knowing her, any questions you ask her will probably end up surprising the hell out of me. Only 'cause she can be unpredictable that way.
So, I'll leave this post up all weekend and post in the comments any questions you want me to ask her. Depending on how many I get, it might take several sessions and several vids. But, from the response I've been getting from many of you, you wouldn't mind seeing my kid up here.
OK, let the questions begin.
And, you can ask her serious questions, silly questions, thought provoking questions. Really, anything (appropriate). She's up for them all!
If you need help, here's some deets on her.
She's 8
She takes dance lessons (since she was 2)
She LOVES music
She LOVES movies and TV shows on DVD
She likes playing Barbies
She likes playing baby doll
She has a boyfriend
She slept through a tornado once
She wants to be a cheerleader
She's really, really, really smart
She's nice and polite
She has a messy room, constantly
She likes to eat (will even try sushi and edamame)
Later,
30 really cool people who give a rat's patootie:
You know who you need to ask? You need to ask Rhea. She does amazing interviews. My kids roll their eyes when I try to ask them things. But...I'll ask my daughter what you should ask - we'll see how that goes:
Okay...that went well. She says "I have no suggestions." Helpful, huh?
How about:
what was your favorite gift from last Christmas?
What is your favorite book?
What color house would you like to live in?
Does your mom do your hair everyday and if so, what's your favorite hair style? Braids? Does she put those little clips in it? Does she put those cool rubberbands in that have dangles on them??
Let me know!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!
- Jennifer
Hmm..How about:
Is there anything (not too serious) that you are hiding from your mama?
Do you have a crush on someone?
What is one of your dreams for the future?
Do you think Elvis is really dead?
That's all I got! Great idea!
Thanks! She'll love to answer those questions.
I know, I love reading Rhea's interviews with her kids. They're funny.
Oh, I'm working on your mom's lanyards. I should be able to get them shipped off tomorrow instead of next Wednesday (my normal shipping days). Your mom's my hero!
That's what I'm talking about Robin! She totally knows who Elvis is. She went on a field trip to his birthplace (we live near Tupelo) and she listens to him with me in the car.
What fun!
1. What is the silliest thing your mom does?
2.What is your favorite color and why?
3. Favorite song to dance to?
1. Ernie or Burt and why?
2. What is your favorite book and why?
3. If you could have a special power for a day what would it be and why?
oooh fun!
*Who is your favorite singer?
*What is your favorite song?
*How many licks does it take to get to the center of Tootsie Pop?
*and How do you feel about President Bush? kidding. :)
what a great idea!
Once you have done your interview with your 8 year old -
I am totally gonna steal it and do it for my 9 year old!
thanks -
signed unoriginal swirl girl
How can I get my kids to try new foods (and they are older than you!)??
What about or aboot:
what's your favorite thing about your mama?
Pickle or no pickle on tuna fish?
What does she like best about herself? (self esteem is important)
What's the appeal of the Jonas Brothers?
What does she wish grown ups would understand?
You're rad, Mama Dawg.
You guys rock! You're questions are sooooooo good. She's gonna love this (or hate me forever). Nah, she's not gonna hate me. She loves the camera too much!
First I want to say thanks form your comment about my mom and the privacy issue - I think you said the exact words I needed to hear. If she gets her feelings hurt, that's her gig. The hubby and I need to have our privacy. So, thanks for that.
Next, question for the LOYL.
I don't know what kind of dance she takes (I took Jazz forever and loved recitals more than anything) but would she consider doing a short (or long) recital/dance number for me/us. I would love to see her in action. Thanks!!
deb-oh, yeah, I think I can "convince" her to do a dance for you. She's been dying for me to do that.
Which Jonas brother (*cough*Joe*) is the cutest?
What should mommy be doing when she's on the computer?
Would mommy do better on Dancing with the Stars or American Idol? Why?
I can only think of one question.
How does she feel about you blogging about her in detail?
This seems to be the issue the media has about us "mommybloggers" and I'm really curious. Noah loves it, but he's only 6. He still thinks I rock and his daddy is Superman (although he's beginning to have doubts about the superhero thing. lol)
How do you feel about your mother trying to arrange your marriage?
What is the difference between a constitutional monarchy and a republic?
What is the gross weight of the sun? (Since you're only 8 I'll give you a plus minus of 100 trillion tonnes)
Ahhhh...the Captain has spoken!
I light of a threatening comment I just received I'd like to retract my previous questions and replace them with these:
Hannah Montana or Lindsay Lohan?
American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance?
Um... I just asked wifey what eight year old girls are interested in. She said something rude and reminded me she has two boys. I asked what she was interested when she was eight. She said she was in a refugee camp and was interested in food. Sorry, LOML.
Um, what's your favourite colour?
Oh, I was just teasing. I can't wait to see her face when I ask her the questions. I'll take on these extras ones, but your first ones were better!
Hey LOML, my name is Sassy. Ok, first...stay in school cuz it's really cool. Second...don't evah evah depend on a man. Be independent and go you own way. The right man will follow. K...down off of my soapbox. Let me cuddle up so we can talk.
So, what movie do you ADORE, that you could watch over and over again without ever getting tired of it? And what movie is a total waste of time? Ever started a movie that was so bad you didn't bother to see the end of it?
Do you like to wear bows or ribbons in your hair? My girls don't and it makes me so sad. One wants hers straight down all the time and the other, "just a pony".
What is your favorite color? What color does your mom look best in? Do you think she should wear sparkly makeup?
When hanging with your Grandma, what does she let you do that mom doesn't? My grandma was always SO WAY cool. I miss her.
What's better? Creamy or crunchy?
If you ever come near Texas, will you please bring your mom by so we can cut it up together?
K...guess that's all I have for now. We can talk more later, gator. Peace out sister. See ya. Seriously, that's it. Go now. Late.
How about, Does your mama snore?
I thought sure the Cap'n was going to ask about the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow.
Awwww. Sassy. Those are great questions. I'm printing yours out so she can read them herself.
Mama Dawg! I heart you so I awarded you. Stop by my place to check it.
Here's a good one: What's your BF's name, and how did you meet? Does he call you on the phone yet?
BTW, if ya thought my Friday Foto was Funny, you should check out the Silly Sunday Sweepstakes tomorrow. We'll be Sharing that Caption Love, ya know!
If aliens landed in your backyard and wanted to take you to their home planet for a week, what three things would you take with you?
Do you know what a blog is? Describe it in your own words. And, what do you think of your mom blogging?
Describe yourself in three words (roughly). Describe your mother in three words.
Emily, what a great idea! I can't wait to hear her answers.
here are some things my 9 year old would like to ask:
which Jonas brother is the best one?
when you play pretend with barbies, do you go for the blonde or the brunette one and why?
what does having a boyfriend feel like?
do you like Webkins?
Do you have chores?
Hey...your daughter sounds like a VERY well-rounded individual!
Creative and scholastically smart!
I can think of only one question...
If you could actaully portray one the characters in your most favorite film, who would it be...and what would you do differently (as the character) to change the ending of the film.
this is fun..i love your blogs...
whats your first memory?
what do you miss most about new orleans?
whats the first thing you would do if you were invisable?
where do you think babies come from?(she probly already knows)
what do you really wanna be when you grow up?
do you miss stefanie? (haha joke)
love stefanie
Would you rather watch TV or dance?
Did you watch "So You Think You Can Dance" and, if so, who was your favorite?
What's the difference between Barbies and baby dolls?
