Awards and Whatnot

OK, so in the past few months, I've gotten several awards and have neglected to pretty them up and show them off.

Jess gave me one yesterday and that prompted me into today's post. With the exception of 2 awards, I know where they all came from.

Whoever gave me the other two, if you leave me a comment, I'll edit and add linky love. Pinky swear!

The first one and I do have to say it's my favorite because it comes from one of my most favoritest peeps on this whole Earth, is from Jess over at This Life is Mine.

She created this award so it's in its first sweep across bloggy land.

And what I like even more? No rules and no game to play. That's why Jess is da' gutterslut BOMB!.

I will say that if you want to grab this one and pass it along, by all means, do so. Make someone's day with this one. Everyone needs a laugh every now and then!

Yeah, this is one that I don't know who gave it to me. Teri, maybe? Not sure. If you gave this one to me, let me know so I can link up to you. Thanks for the award, whoever you are!

The most awesome of Kats over at 3 Bedroom Bungalow gave me this award. I heart Kat. Like Jess mentioned on her blog, when Kat comes over for a visit from across the pond, Jess, Kat and I are going to do some wild and crazy shit together. And also as Jess mentioned, there will be tons and tons and tons of pics, however, I have a feeling that only a few will be posted due to the R or X rated content of the others. Yeah, that's how we roll.

Pseudo over at Pseudonymous High School Teacher presented me with this lovely award. I love this lady. For many and various reasons.

First of all, she lives in HAWAII people. That was what drew me in. That and the pics she posts about Hawaii.

Then, I discovered that she feeds homeless cats. For real. That made me fall in love with her just a bit more.

To finally cement her in my heart forever, she sent LOML a birthday present.

Correction...she sent her PRESENTS. Now, I'm not all materialistic. Please don't think that. What made this so awesome is that she sent her stuff from Hawaii! Special leis, a shell ring, a travel game, some liquid bath soaps in tropical shapes (including a hula girl) and a picture frame in tropical colors shaped as sunglasses. LOML loved all of the gifts but she was more touched by the fact that this "stranger who reads her mom's blog" that lives in Hawaii thought of her and sent her something.

Yeah, the way to my heart is through my kid. Pseudo, you're there forever now.

This is another one that I received and I'm not sure who it came from. If you gave it to me, holler at me in the comments. I'll hook you up with some linky love. Thanks!

The Snooty Primadonna gave me this lovely gem of an award. If you haven't checked her out, please do. She's quite the funny lady.

I love spring. These are some little wildflowery weedy things that grow in the yard. I put them in this teeny tiny bottle and put them in my kitchen window. I love putting a small bouquet (or even just one flower) in this bottle and letting the sun filter through the purple glass. Warms my heart.

Tabbouleh.........tasty. This is my lunch today. And tomorrow and probably Friday as well....wait, I'm in New Orleans on Friday. Never mind. I'll be eating something MUCH tastier on Friday...and Saturday...and, well, Sunday.

We haven't been back to N'awlins since New Years. We're so overdue for a visit.

I even have tentative plans to meet up with Kelly from Carty Party of Three. We're still working out the kinks.

What are your weekend plans?

Later,

Mama Dawg

P.S. The CONTEST ends on Friday. Get your entries in for a gift card from Wal-Mart, Target or Barnes and Noble!

Good Saturday Morning!

Good Saturday morning to all of you!I had some more housecleaning to do, so....off we go!

First off, Light of My Life has gotten the jewelry making bug from her mama.

Santa brought her a bunch of jewelry making stuff and she's been working like a demon.

She's decided that she wants to put it up on etsy to sell. I told her I would make her her own etsy shop to sell her wares.

When I asked her what she was going to do with the money she makes, she told me (and no joke here, all her ideas) that she is going to put half towards her Disney money (we're hopefully going in May) and the other half in her savings account.

I am so proud of her.Anyway, here's the link to her shop. There's also a few pics for you to view.

I also received an award from someone that I WOULD LOVE TO MEET in real life. I "met" her through a RL friend who also blogs. Small world, huh? Anyway, she's awesome. She just had a baby a few months ago. She also has killer recipes on her blog.

Here's the rules for this one:

Here's the Friend Bloggy Award Scoop:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Wow. So cool. Thanks again Lisa over at Growing Up Mo' for the beautiful award.

I'll have to think on this one and get back to you guys.

Then, Diane over at Good Mourning, Glory tagged me with this:

Go to my fourth folder & pick out the fourth picture. No cropping or editing allowed. Here it is.

This is a picture of LOML and her cousin whom she met for the very first time a few weeks ago. This is my cousin's child. They hit it off right away. I have more pics from this trip, but haven't posted about it yet. I love their rosy cheeks and you can see the windswept hair.

That's all I got today, folks. We're heading to the big city for some birthday shopping (my mom's b-day was Thursday) and dinner. Plus a little Chuck E Cheese for LOML and her friend. I think I'm more excited about Chuck E Cheese than they are!

Lad, I Don't Know Where Ya Been, But I See You Won First Prize!

I got this lovely beauty from Diane over at Good Mourning, Glory. I found her not too long ago. I have no clue where or how, but I love her. She posts some incredible postmortem photographs (from the olden days when they would take pics of the dead...they're not gory or gross, but beautiful). She fascinates me and yet she's the one to give ME an award. Thanks Diane!

As usual, there's rules.

But, you know me. I have this compulsive need to break them.

So, instead of me naming 10 people to give this to, I say the first 10 people on my crack bloggers blog roll on the right get this award.

(here's the rules if you want 'em:

The purpose of this award is to give it to someone who is showing gratitude or a good attitude ("if life hands you lemons, made lemonade") within their life or blog.

The rules: put the logo on your blog, nominate at least 10 blogs that show great attitude and/or gratitude, link to your nominees, let them know they have received the award by commenting on their blog, and share the love and link to the person from whom you received your award. )

In addition, have you heard this? If not, why not? This is a song that I put on repeat constantly in my iPod. It's such a fun song.

Due to all this Facebook crap, I found one of my best friends from high school. Her name is Jenny and she's got her own blog. I don't know if she's looking for a lot of traffic to her blog, so if you go over there, please remember to be nice and polite. She's not like me. She's classy.

We had such a blast in school together. We had all these inside jokes and we kept a notebook that we passed back and forth to each other in the halls instead of notes. Less conspicuous that way. We never got caught, either. And I still have the notebook. Maybe I'll dig it out and post some tidbits here. That would be funny.

Anyway, she tagged me to share 7 things you never needed (or probably wanted) to know about me.

Let's see.......

1. I'm related to Jimmy Carter. Don't ask me how. I have no clue. All I know is that it's on my fathers side and that it's really a distant relation.

2. I ran track in high school. For one year. Til a line drive at a baseball game (yes, I was in the dugout with the baseball players...that's another story for another time) hit my shin so hard, it left a bump and bruise for a month. I limped forever. So, my track career was a bust.

3. I have a chicken pox scar on my right cheek. Other than if someone asks about it, I forget I have it. Even in high school. It never bothered me.

4. I can actually sing the whole song, "Ice Ice Baby" and not miss a word. However, no one that has ever heard me sing has lived to tell the tale. Or at least I assume they're dead. I've never heard back from them after I sang the song. I miss my Aunt Gladys.

5. There are very few things I'll eat. In fact, the list is so short, I can list them all here. English peas (the little green balls), celery and melons. I don't eat these alone and with the exception of celery, I won't eat them mixed in anything. If the celery is chopped up fine enough, I'll eat it.

6. I'm incredibly thoughtless. Not in a mean way, just in an "I'm totally not aware of my surroundings so if I forget your birthday or to ask you how you are after an illness, it's not intentional" way.

7. No matter what a guy looks like (for the most part), if he has a Scottish, Irish, Australian or British accent, I'd probably do him. No guarantees, but they have much better odds than any others out there.

So, thanks Jen, for that fun tag.

If you wanna do it, just do it. It's yours for the taking.

The Ultimate Randomness of All Randomness (at least until the next random post)

Whoo Hoo! I got some more awards.

You guys are gonna make me get a big head if this keeps up (keep it up please, I bought an XL hat the other day and right now it doesn't fit. To save me from returning it, please give me some more awards...please, pretty please, with sugar on top?)

This one came from not one BUT two people. Granted, Goodfather just tossed out like a bajillinity names on his blog to give this to, but it is soooooooo cool. It's a manly award. And it has a tool on it *hee, hee, I said tool*.

However, Irish Gumbo actually BESTOWED this award on me. He singled me and a couple of others out specifically for this award. He must think I'm a tool. *hee, hee, I said tool*

This one comes with rules. I get the feeling that Goodfather is a good rule follower. Since he's so nice, I'll do this for him.

This award is for any blog that truly ‘measures up’.

Rules

1. Say one nice thing to a man in your life. (I told Max, my puppy, currently the only man in my life...besides JD and Mike the cats, that he was cute. Does that count?)

2. List at least six ways that you measure success in your life (or for your blog).

1. My daughter is happy
2. I'm happy.
3. I can buy groceries.
4. I have loyal readers.
5. I have friends.
6. I have a nice creative outlet that earns me respect.

3. Assign this award to six other blogs and leave them a comment telling the blogger that you’ve assigned them this award.

1. Manic Mariah
2. Momo Fali
3. Tattooed Minivan Mom
4. Vodka Mom
5. Trooper Thorn
6. Even the Nice Ones

4. Link back to the blog that you received this award from.

---------------

This next one is from one of my favorite Canadians, Captain Dumbass.

He, like Goodfather, CREATED this award.

I love me some Pirates. And if they're Canadian Pirates? That much better.

No rules with this one. If you want it, it's yours.

I like that he thinks I've got booty. Someone must have leaked my secret blog photos. Dammit!

-----------------------

Awwww.....as a last minute edit, I just rec'd this beautiful award from Heinous. Isn't he sweet? I think he just wanted to dump a feminine award, but I'll take it. I've already received this one once, so I'm not gonna do the thing that's attached to it.

-----------------------

You guys are in for a treat.

I'm doing a BEST OF RANDOMNESS here at the Dawg House.

I compiled a list of my best random lines from past posts.

Enjoy!

----------

A mouse and I had a stare down this morning in the pots and pans cabinet. He blinked first and ran away. Hahahahaha! Stupid mouse. I won!!!!! Nanny, nanny boo-boo.

----------

How come when I hear the song "It's A Hard Knock Life", I just want to run home and feed light of my life some porridge and dress her in tattered clothing and sit on the couch and watch "Annie" all day long?

----------

I just walked out in the hallway to get to another part of the hospital and it smelled like pickle relish and then I swear to God I saw a Hobbit in the mail room.

I wonder if they're connected?

----------

I saw an old man walking down the road the other day. He was about 6'2" or so and had white hair that I could see sticking out from under his straw hat. He was wearing overalls and boots. I only saw him from the back.

My first thought upon seeing him....oohhh, I bet he's a monster. Just like out of a Stephen King novel.

I swear if he had turned around and had piercing all black dead eyes, I would not have been surprised. Scared, yes, but not surprised.

----------

I took out a pair of panties the other day (clean from my drawer) and noticed my panties have stretch marks. Is that possible? And if so, what does that mean for or about me?

----------

I was driving home from the vet's office a couple of weeks ago and laughed when I spotted an entire unopened non-flattened package of hot dog buns in the middle of the road. Some poor schmuck is going to get home and say "Well, Ethel, I could have sworn I bought a pack of them hot dog buns...I dunno" all the while Ethel is yelling "Jethro...we cain't eat no hot dogs without them hot dog buns".

I laughed harder a couple of miles later when I saw another package in the same condition.

----------

Some thoughts that keep me up at night:

When you lose weight, where does the weight go?

Do you think fumes (paint, gas, etc...) have a color? If so, what color do you think they are?

and the number one thought that drives me crazy...

If you have more than one doofus in a room and you're trying to tell someone that there's more than one doofus in the room, what's the plural of doofus? Doofuses or doofi? Any ideas? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

----------

I had a Harry Potter moment the other day. I was driving to work and it was kinda foggy in some spots. I had been driving for a while with a clear windshield when all of a sudden, it fogged over and got an icy look. My first thought? "Oh, shit, the dementors are coming".

----------

Here's some new random thoughts:

Having cucumbers and pickles on a salad is like sleeping with your first cousin. The pickle is only once removed from the cucumber.

----------

I've made it my life's mission to become friends with Morgan Freeman. He's a celebrity that's always in Mississippi and I think we could become best buds. We have ABSOLUTELY nothing in common, but that shouldn't stop us. Should it?

That's it!

Happy Friday!

House Cleaning Friday

Happy day after Thanksgiving, y'all!

This is a pre-post. Don't get all excited.

It's just time for some house cleaning. Believe it or not, I've actually gotten a couple of more awards that I need to acknowledge and pass around.

The first is from Even the Nice Ones.

Isn't she so chic and pretty? Very unlike me. But the award is BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL nevertheless (did they ever determine if that was an actual word or not?).

This one comes with rules AND a game of sorts.

1. You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs in a post.

2. You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions in the post.

3. You must copy and paste the rules and the instructions below in the post.

Instructions:On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well. To add the award to your post, simply right-click, save image, then "add image" it in your post as a picture so your winners can save it as well. To add it to your sidebar, add the "picture" gidget. Also, don't forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by emailing them or leaving a comment on their blog.

So grateful for the instructions on how to post the awards. Cause I don't know how to do that. (is sarcasm lost on the Internet? I think so.)

Anyhoo, I'll be a good little girl and follow the rules (for once in my life).

Here's my addictions first:

1. Water...for drinking and bathing and swimming. No, not all together. I know who pees in the pool. I love drinking water. I drink more than the recommended 8 glasses a day. I love to be near water. Lakes, ponds, creeks, the ocean...whatever. I love the water. And I LOVE baths.

2. My blog. Cause it rocks.

3. Food. I can't specify a favorite because it's always changing. But I LOVE food.

4. Facebook. Right now, I can't stay off of it. I love seeing people I haven't seen since graduation.

5. Canadians. Cause I have an obsessive love for their humor.

Now, for the linky love:

1. Jess over at This Life is Mine. Girls got balls, y'all. Girls got balls. 'Nuff said.

2. I have fallen in love with the Tattooed Minivan Mom. She's like me in the sense that she's balls to the wall on her blog (her more so than I) but kinda shy and quiet in real life.

3. I gotta go with the Steenky Bee. I know, I know, she's my nemesis. But, you gotta love her. She is...what do they say...AWESOMESAUCE!

4. I heart the Captain so much. He needs...nay, DESERVES another pretty award on his blog. He needs some womaning up, y'all. Plus, he's Canadian.

5. I'm gonna go with Rhea over at Texas Word Tangle. I simply love her. And she needs some cheering up.

--------------

These next two came from Jaden Paige over at The Life and Times of Bendy Ruggles.

The first one, I received already from Katie but I'll still take it.

The second one is new to me and I heart it.

There's info that comes with this one.

The qualifications to receive the award are:

A. Display a cheerful attitude. (I'm not sure I qualify for this one, dammit)

B. Love one another. (Oh, yeah, I love me some lovin'...however, I don't think that's what this means)

C. Make mistakes. (I can do that one...eays...I mean, easy...see?)

D. Learn from others. (I learn things all the time from my fellow bloggers. For this, I am grateful.)

E. Be a positive contributor to the blog world. (I contribute...I don't know about in a positive manner, but, I contribute)

F. Love life. (This? I can do.)

G. Love kids. (Only mine, sorry...other ones skeeve me out...just kiddin'...mostly)

The Rules:

1. Must link it back to the creator.
2. Post the rules.
3. Choose 5 people to give it to.
4. Recipients must fill the characteristics above.
5. Create a post to share this.
6. You must thank the winner.

OK, here's the next 5 bestowed uponees (new word, think Urban DicKtionary will take this one?):

1. Lo over at Slap Happy Musings. She's such a breath of fresh air. So young and full of life.

2. Jerlyn over at BadKarma...cause she's Captain Dumbasses mom y'all! She deserves an award just for that ALONE!!! Plus, she's allowed me to become a member of the Dumbass family. My new name from now on is Mama Dawg Dumbass.

3. Ms. Partly Cloudy...she's MAW's daughter and I heart her so much. If I ever won the lottery, I want her to get her teaching degree and then I'll hire her as my daughter's private teacher. Cause she's someone who I would LOVE to have teach my daughter!

4. Ashley...Unscripted. She got the most awesome boots, y'all. I LOVE her boots. And her blog!

5. Kat over in England. Cause she's in England. And knows how to drive on the wrong side of the road. That alone is worth an award.

Whew...I'm tired.

--------------------

Lisa over at Growing Up 'Mo is having a contest! It's for 2 Il Divo c.d.'s. Even if they sucked at singing, I'd buy their c.d. anyway...Urs is sooooooooooo friggin' hot.

If you wanna enter, you gotta go check her out! Contest ends Friday, December 5th.

-------------------

I stole this from Scargosun. Since it's the day after Thanksgiving, I figure I can officially announce all things Christmas. Today is the day I'll start my Christmas Carols and will go to the storage unit to dig out all of my decorations. Next weekend, we'll go to the good old Home Depot and snag a tree.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I prefer wrapping paper but have resorted to bags on occasion.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Real, real, real, real, real. I can't stress that enough.

3. When do you put up the tree? First weekend in December

4. When do you take the tree down? After Christmas but before New Year's.

5. Do you like eggnog? Oh, heavens yes. I love the stuff. I even have special eggnog mugs.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I can't remember anything specific. I guess Barbie stuff.

7. Hardest person to buy for? My mother.

8. Easiest person to buy for? My aunt.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Nope.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Beware, if I have your address, you're getting one.

11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A robe from my ex-husband.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? The day after Christmas from the following year.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Heck yeah! What else am I gonna do with a ceramic angel bear with feathered wings?

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? my mom's cheese grits

16. Lights on the tree? Hello...what is a tree without lights?

17. Favorite Christmas song? The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Yes. And all of the 7 Dwarfs, too.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star...that light of my life made.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning. Christmas day after dinner. Yes, we wait THAT long.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? People who say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Almost all of ours are old ornaments. I don't like a uniform tree. I like 'em all messy and with a great deal of history behind them.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? As long as my mama makes her cheese grits, I don't care what else is on the table.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? No friggin' clue.

-------------------

Damn, my wrist hurts worse than a 13 year old boys with a stack of his dad's stolen Playboys under his mattress.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Mama Dawg

Yippe Ki Yay, Motherf*cker!

Yes, I put the * in so all you people out there that might not visit me due to the "eff" word will come on over.

You're welcome!

Anyhoo, my former internet love, Trooper Thorn, has decided to soothe my wounded feelings post break-up with a BEE-YOU-TE-FUL award.

Idn't purty? So purty. Look y'all. It's got a flutterby on it and everything.

There's some sort of rule where I have to post this:

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

But my question is, who follows up on these things? Are we gonna get fined if we don't post this? Is there gonna be a hit out on us? Is Steenky Bee going to stalk us? Is Captain Dumbass's kid gonna bite us on the ear? Is Jess going to make us do one of those upside down beer thingies? Or flash us her boobs? (yeah, you know you went to the link...don't lie)

For fear of my life and the life of my many, many animals and kid, I'll play along.

I'm supposed to nominate 8 people.

Dude, I keep giving awards to like the same 3 people.

Let me check my blogroll and see who I can scare up.

Let's see, nope, can't give her one.

Nope, he'll get a big head if I give him one.

What about...nah...she doesn't deserve it.

Shit, I'm all out of bloggers.

So, tell you what.

How about YOU guys give me some bloggers to bestow this award on?

Yeah, yeah, I like that. Do my work for me.

Someone, anyone, give me some bloggers to bestow this award upon. Once I hit the magical number of 8, I'll edit this post and pass out the award.

So, go ahead. Give me some names.

Later,

P.S. I'm totally kidding about bloggers on my blog roll not being deserving of this award. I just keep giving these things out to the same people over and over and over again. That, and most of you guys have this already.

P.S.S. Nope, not gonna tell you about the break-up. It hurts too much to speak of. However, he is making up for the pain by presenting me with this award.

P.S.S.S. I totally rock. Jennifer over at MN vs. TX also presented me with this award. In your face, suckas!

Mascara Dripping Due to Copius Tears of Thanks

Ok, not really.

I don't wear mascara.

But, I do want to say thanks to two people who have for some reason, found me to be "hookable" (and no, that doesn't mean they think I have great potential to be a hooker....although.....) and Kreativ (must be a Russian blogger that came up with that one).

jenboglass over at Steenky Bee gave me this award like 100 million years ago. Due to our ongoing feud over who gets to stalk Captain Dumbass (she's ahead by like 1,567 points), I chose to ignore her for a while and am just now getting around to acknowledging her nod in my direction.

This one comes with rules (what's with the awards coming with strings...they should just be honored for their kreativity and hookableness without me having to work for it, right?).

I'm supposed to give it to 5 blogs that I'm hooked on.

But, here's the catch...I have another award I have to bestow upon 6 blogs.

So, in a bit, I'm just gonna award 6 people BOTH awards. How's that for a twofer?

Jaden Paige over at The Life and Times of Bendy Ruggles (how's that for a name?) awarded me this:

Isn't she so sweet? I just discovered her. If she becomes a big hot shot blogger, she can give me full credit for it. Cause I discovered her.

Hmmmm...what's that?

Others are reading her, too?

Shit.

Oh, well, it's still sweet of her to give me this. I shall cherish it always *tossing it up on the top shelf in the utility closet*.

This one comes with a game of sorts.

I'm supposed to list 6 things that make me happy.

In no particular order, here's 6 things that at this very second I'm posting, make me happy:

1. Rhea's new pink streaks in her hair. I'm so impressed and jealous. I want some. But...I'm so happy for her that she got them. They look AWESOME.

2. Canadians. I love me some Canadians.

3. MAW's daughter, Partly Cloudy, has a blog and she's following me! Yay me! She's a pretty awesome blogger. She only has 3 post, but her second one ROCKED.

4. My dog, Max. He's the sweetest dog EVER. The way he cocks his head and has one ear up and one down while sneering at you is HILARIOUS. I'll try to get a pic.

5. It's fall. I love fall. For real. It's awesome.

6. I have green apple bubble gum. I love the taste of green apple bubble gum. However, I tend to chew the gum and as soon as the sugar runs out, I spit it out. Gross, I know, but then again, I just chew it for the sugar rush anyway.

So, now I gotta list 6 bloggers and award them these prestigious awards.

This is so tough.

Mostly cause jenboglass decided to break the rules and awarded hers to like a billion people. You suck, jenboglass. (not really)

Ok, let's give them to:

1. Pseudonymous High School Teacher-she lives in Hawaii...for real. Really reals. And she's a teacher. And she's a survivor. How can you not love her?

2. My girl Sassy Stephanie over at our piece of quiet. She's my bloggy soul sister. We're both 6 feet tall with long flowing hair and legs that are miles long. Swear to God, we are. Just don't ask for proof. We don't do photos or autographs for less than $25,000.

3. Middle-Aged Woman (MAW for short) over at Unmitigated. I admire the hell out of this woman. She's a late in life teacher, the mom to some awesome kids, she reads A LOT, she has the most awesome movie collection EVER. Can I be you when I grow up? Please?

4. Cocotte over at Suburban Musings. I can't nail down exactly what it is about her and her blog that I like so much. It's nothing really specific. I just like her. Plain and simple (no, SHE'S not plain and simple). Maybe it's because we both heart Trooper Thorn and I know that she's not a threat to our love. Yeah, that's gotta be it.

5. Let's go with a real newbie and give it to Jess over at This Life is Mine. She reminds me of someone and I can't put my finger on it. She also parties like I used to...before light of my life. Sigh...at least I can live vicariously through her.

6. Scargosun will be the last one in this category. Cause you have to save the best for last, didn't ya know? This is someone that makes me think. Our lives are sooooo different, yet I feel a real connection with her. Maybe because she does so many things that I wish I did. She truly tries to live a better life. She's so knowledgeable in so many things that I'm not. Plus, she has an awesome island.

So, everyone that's been bestowed this award, go forth and do whatever it is you feel like doing with it. I won't tell if you don't follow the rules. I can keep a secret. *wink*

Award Lovin'...I Has It

I feel like the most popular girl in school...and for a good reason, not the bad one....that I was known for...just kidding.....maybe....yeah, just kidding.

(btw...I know that's not correct grammar up top in my title...if you're a cheezburger or hot dog fan, you'll get that...if not...too bad)

Anyhoo, Katie from Katie Says presented me with this lovely award. It made my day, I tell ya.

But, I feel really, really bad.

See, she presented this to me last week.

And I failed to get this out in a timely fashion.

*hangs head with shame*

I'm really good about getting these up. Usually 'cause I'm so stoked. Just ask LiteralDan. He knows how fast I like to get my awards up.

Katie, forgive me please.

With this awesome award comes some responsibilities.

Here they are:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received the award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs you have nominated.

However, you guys all know I'm a rule breaker.

Plus, like the same 7 people would get this award.

So, instead, if you're one of my regular readers, feel free to snatch the award right of my page.

Go ahead, I dare ya!

This Award Is Dedicated To The Underprivileged & Malnourished Sea Monkeys of Estonia

Oh, man, this is the coolest thing! I've gotten another award! I love getting these. Especially since I'm such a shy pers...yeah, I couldn't finish that without snickering, either.

The brains (I like to call her MAW) behind Unmitigated bestowed upon me the award you see below.

Do you know any bloggers that kick ass?

Maybe they've got incredible, original content. Or they're overflowing with creativity. Is it someone that helps you become a better blogger? Or a bloggy friend you know you can count on? Or maybe it's someone who simply inspires you to be a better person... or someone else who sends you to the floor, laughing your ass off.

Whatever the reason may be, I'm sure you know at least a couple of bloggers that kick ass.

Well... why not tell 'em so?

Man, oh, man...I gotta award this to 5 people.

Hmmmm....LiteralDan already got one...and by the way...neener, neener LiteralDan...I got mine up first. *phbtttttt*

Ok, here we go:

1. Happy Hour Sue over at Happy Meals and Happy Hour: Dude, you gotta go lay eyes on her Bathtub Gangsta! He's the Mack Daddy of all Mack Daddies. And yes, I just dated myself by using the words "mack daddy".

2. Bernardo and Guillermo over at Two Knit Monkeys: I never get tired of monkey farts...ever.

3. Weith Kick at, well, Weith Kick: If I counted all the times I've nearly swallowed my gum or spit water out at my computer screen after reading something he's written, well, I'd have almost pooped a Big League Chew's worth of gum and my computer might be fried. He's hysterical!

4. Sassy Stephanie over at Our Piece of Quiet: She rocks my comments hard! I feel like we're bloggie soul sistas or something. Or, not. Whatev.

5. Chris over at Weather Moose: Cause he grants me permission to quote him ALL THE TIME on my blog. He's just so quotable and so cute as a girl.

Go forth and dispense at your leisure and pleasure and other "sures" words.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Two Little Monkeys Love Me!!!

OMG!!!! I totally got another award!!! Like, I can't believe it. Awesome, dude!

Two Little Monkeys jumping on a bed, one fell off and bumped his head...and then gave me this award!

I'd like to thank the brilliant Bernardo and Guillermo for this award. They are the cutest little knit monkeys I've ever met! They bestowed this award on me and indicated that I needed to follow the rules listed below in order to accept this award with the grace and dignity with which it was awarded.

Hey...who farted? Smells like bananas.

Anyway, here's the rules:

1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.

I really gotta think on this one....hmmm...who's been kissing up lately?

Ok, here we go:

1. Rhea over at Texas Word Tangle. I love this woman. She's been so supportive and kind and funny and just over all great. This is one person I'd actually like to meet IRL.

2. Heather over at Mindless Junque. She's one half of the genius that is SITS. I admire the hell out of her and especially love her (and Tiffany) for turning me on to the Twilight Series.

3. Afro over at Afro because she's not afraid to tell it like it is...especially on her blog. Also, she lives near me and I find this soooo cool.

4. Dan over at LiteralDan. I feel like I'm always nominating him for an award, but y'all...he's THAT good.

5. Lula over at Lulaville. This is a southern sista all the way, baby! Anyone who taught me to use baby powder to get sand off at the beach deserves an award.

6. Momo Fali over at Momo Fali's. She has the most precocious son who literally says what he thinks. It might make for embarrassing situations for his mom, but it makes excellent blog fodder!

7. Trooper Thorn at Dogs and Jeans. It always makes me laugh to see that name in my blogroll cause my mind sees it as "Dogs and Jesus". He's also a hottie! And a screenwriter! And funny!

Go check out all these peeps and leave 'em a comment saying congrats!

Thanks again to Jen, Bernardo and Guillermo!

I'd Like to Thank My Mama and Jesus and the Village People and...and...and...

...and I got another award! This one is from Scargosun. I love her! She's been a regular reader for a couple of months now and she is one of the first to read me (besides my loyal readers like Tracey and Jodi and Mary and Karen and Vicki) when my blog started picking up speed. Now that I think about it, I can't remember exactly how she found me but I'm so grateful she did.

There are some rules to this award so here they go:

If you already have the award just accept and that's all you have to do.

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that presented her/him with the award.

4. The award winner and one who has given the prize have to show the link "
Arte y Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. Show these rules.

So, once again, I have all the power in my itty bitty hands.

I think I shall bestow this award on the following people:

Tracey at More Than A Minivan Mom for her very thought provoking posts. I don't always agree with what she says but I've never read anyone that can write about the topics that she writes about as eloquently as she does. If I wasn't so much in love with myself, I'd totally want to be Tracey.

Kathy at Mama's Losin' It cause, well, she ROCKS!!!!! Plus, she's gonna marry Jared Leto one day and I feel like I need to get in on the ground floor of their budding romance now. That way they can see how loyal I've been and will reward me with all sorts of goodies like free concert tickets, free movie premiere tickets, a free laptop w/a lifetime paid Internet connection, a free car...do you sense a theme here for this poor girl? LOL! Seriously, her blog is deserving.

Jen at Daily Mish Mash because of her Friday Eye Candy. THAT alone is worth many, many awards. Remember Mateo's BOOTAY? Yeah, that was Jen.

Dan at LiteralDan because he's so smart and intelligent and wise and...give me a second, I need to go to thesaurus.com to look up some more words for smart...BRB...ahhh forget it. You get my drift. He makes me feel smarter when I read him.

and last, but not nearly the least...the cutest guy on the 'net since my daughters boyfriend...

TentCamper from I Pee In The Wind because...well...the name of his blog makes me laugh. And so does he.

Even though the rules don't allow me to do so, I'm gonna give out an honorary award anyway. Cause I'm just a rebel, that's why.

The honorary award go to...drum roll please....Bernardo and Guillermo at Two Knit Monkeys!!! I mostly want to see how they're going to pick up this obviously heavy award with two nipply hands! That and these little guys remind me so much of some brothers I used to baby-sit when I was a teenager.

Go forth and prosper, run like the wind, get the hell outta here and enjoy your awards! Y'all deserve it!

P.S. That was the toughest blog I've ever done. So many links! My hands hurt.

I'm Cool!!! I've Got Proof!!!

Yay me!!! I finally get to sit at the cool table!!!

Take that all you stinky stuck up biatches from my old (it shall forever remain nameless due to the fact that a recent middle school friend looked me up and God forbid she still speak to people from my old high school and forward this on to them....cause I was just that important...insert sarcasm there) high school!

In your face, suckas!!!

Here are the official rules:The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

I'm gonna print it out (even though I don't have access to a color printer) and laminate it and turn it into a badge and wear it with a haughty stuck up look on my face all day long.

You know what...I think I just lost the right to have this award.

Ahhh
...screw it. I'm keeping it.

I got this award from the oh-so-wonderful Jen at Daily Mish Mash. Click here to check out the awesomeness that is Jen.

I especially LOVE her Friday Eye Candy post. Can we say "HELLOOOOOOO Matthew McConaughey's BOOTAY? Seriously, go ahead, click on the word BOOTAY and you'll see what I mean. She has some delicious pictures of Ryan Gosling, Colin Firth, Brad Pitt, Josh Hollaway, etc... but the one of Mateo's BOOTAY? Oh, man, I got heart palpitations. Good thing I work in a hospital.

You know why else I love this award?

Cause I got all the power now. Yep, it's all in my itty bitty hands. Well, not so itty bitty, but you get my drift.

I get to bestow this award on blogs that make me laugh or smile or chuckle or guffaw or hyena laugh or whatever sound you make when you laugh....mine typically sounds like a donkey braying. Seriously...it's not funny...well, actually, it is.

Anyway, without further ado, here's the three that top my list:

Carrie at Candid Carrie

Lula at Lulaville

I don't know how many times I've had to suppress my laughter here at work for fear of seeming like an idiot at laughing hysterically at Medicaid payments.

Check these guys out and for you ladies that were bestowed with this award...pass on the love!

Mama Dawg
