Who Would You Do?

Don't forget about my contest! It ends this Friday!

It's Monday again. The only thing that its got going for it is it's one day closer to going down to N'awlins this weekend and one day closer to Disney World.

Here's a little female power "Who Would You Do?" (book by Susan Segrest)

The Bionic Woman, Jaime Sommers, offers to demonstrate the amazing sexual powers she was given in the lab and Wonder Woman, Diana Prince, whispers that she's desperate to slip off that little skintight superhero number and while still wearing her knee high boots, show you what her magic lasso is really used for. Who would you do?

As usual:

*Editor's Note---You HAVE to pick one of the choices. Even if you're a guy and the only choices are guys...same for girls...believe me, there are lots where it's only girls to choose from.

What Would Joey Potter Do?

I have a dilemma.

Well, technically, LOML has a dilemma.

But, I'm her mama, so it's my dilemma, too. Cause she keeps asking me what to do.

And I don't think I'm the best one in this situation to offer her advice on her particular problem.

See...there's a boy.

All right, all right, there's actually TWO boys.

Yeah, she takes after her mother. What can I say?

I've mentioned on here before that LOML has a boyfriend. His name is...well, for privacy sake, we'll call him Dawson.

Now, as I've mentioned before, Dawson and LOML met in the second grade. That was the year we moved here to this tiny burg.

Almost from the moment LOML walked in through the classrooms doors, he laid claim to her and has never looked back.

When she first told me of this "boyfriend" at 7 years of age, I dismissed it as a schoolgirl crush and never dreamed it was reciprocated.

Nine months later at her birthday party, I realized it just might be a "serious" relationship.

Well, as serious as 8 year olds can get.

At her 8th birthday party, he gave her a watch as her present.

Now, that's not THAT unusual, but it IS a piece of jewelry. And yes, I know his mother was the one that picked it out.

But still.....

Then, when we were at the mall one time, he was there and spotted LOML from a long distance. He practically tripped over his own feet to get to her. They stood there in the middle of the mall (with both moms within viewing distance but not within hearing distance) and talked for at least 10 minutes.

Now how many 8 year old boys do you know that will even acknowledge a girls presence let alone stand there and talk to her in a PUBLIC forum?

Not many, I'd gather.

Then, this past Christmas? I knew for a fact that it was "serious".

He gave her some bling.

Specifically, a heart shaped necklace.

It's really pretty. I mean, really pretty. Except for the Hannah Montana charm. That can be removed. We've already looked into that!

Here's the problem.

There's an older boy. Let's call him Pacey.

Pacey is in the 4th grade.

Pacey is in the gifted class, same as LOML. Dawson is not.

Pacey is pushing LOML to be his girlfriend. Not in a "pushy" way, he's just really interested in her.

Pacey is cute (Dawson is just as cute).

Pacey is funny (Dawson is funny, too).

Pacey gave LOML a ring.

Yes, he gave her a ring.

And what makes it even sweeter (at least from a mother's point of view), it's too big. And looks like it was his mothers at some point.

My heart went "awwwwww".

He gave it to her yesterday at the library. I asked LOML how he knew she would be at the library since we didn't even know we were going.

Her response?

"Oh, he's always prepared".

I wanted to laugh so hard. Then I wanted to cry. Then I got scared.

Cause as an adult, to me, being "prepared" basically means "having protection" and "being ready at the drop of a hat".

I know that's not what she meant and that's the furthest thing from their innocent little minds, but still, gave me a start.

I'm getting way off topic.

The dilemma LOML has is this...she likes both boys.

And she doesn't know what to do.

She's taking this very seriously, so I can't just laugh it off and say something like "I can only dream of having a problem like that these days" or something equally dismissive.

I have to take this seriously.

My first instinct is, "have 'em both". It's not like they're adults and this is a marriage situation. They're kids. Enjoy the attention while you can.

I've basically told her that she needs to follow her heart in this situation and that it's not something I can help her decide. That this is solely HER decision but that I'm here for her to talk to whenever she needs it.

What would Joey do in this situation?

Sigh..........

The Randomness of Me

Yeah, you're getting treated to more randomness. Sorry. It's all I got today.

I sat in the kitchen this morning and watched my cat J.D. take a leak in Max the dog's water bowl. Granted, it was empty and Max has another water bowl that stays outside that he drinks out of now, but still.....made me wonder what he did to piss J.D. off.

Then I realized that he did it because he's getting sick again. And my heart's breaking just a little today.

---------------

I live in such a small town that whenever anything scandalous happens, it's a BIG deal and will be talked about for ages.

In this case, the scandal happened in a small town near us and not exactly our town. But word spreads.

Apparently, my optometrist was having a horrid affair with the First Baptist Church's preacher's wife. And then when his wife accused him of the affair, he attempted to strangle her and was arrested. The preacher accused his wife and told her she could have two bags to pack up whatever she wanted but couldn't have a car to leave. She could call whomever she wanted to come pick her up.

I love my tiny towns! It's like Days of Our Lives over here.

---------------

I love music. And I love dancing. Good thing they go hand in hand.

However, how I think I look dancing (in my head) is far different from how I actually look dancing.

In my head, I dance like this:

However, in real life, I dance a bit like this.....

.....but without the bikini. I don't dance in swimwear. Not enough support.

---------------

I frightened the shit out of my self this morning.

I went to the bathroom at work to refill my water glass for the first time today. We have those automatic paper towel dispensers that when you wave your hand in front of them, they give you a pre-disposed amount of paper towel to use to dry your hands.

Anyway, when I leaned over the sink to turn on the faucet, I must have triggered the dispenser cause it started whirring and spitting out a paper towel. It was kind of funny. But my heart was still racing a few minutes later.

---------------

I love spring. I love getting a glass of wine and sitting on the front porch just enjoying the lovely longer, warmer days.

I'm so ready for summer though so I can pick my blackberries and make a delicious cobbler.

---------------

I also love spring because when I get home from work, there's enough daylight leftover that LOML and I can play outside.

Our newest obsession is football.

We used to have a football shaped ball that we caught from a Mardi Gras parade but Max tore the hell out of it. It was made of pleather and was stuffed.

We bought a Nerf football but he not only tore a hole in that, he also stole it from us when LOML missed a pass and went and buried it.

We still can't find it.

We finally went and plunked down money for a pigskin football on Saturday.

We've discovered that Max likes to play football. Not only does he "catch" the ball, but he'll try to tackle you for it, too.

Such a boy.

Here's a vid that we made last night:

Yes, those ARE my pale almost pure white legs. Knock it off. I can't afford to get a fake tan and it's been too cold to lay out for the past 5 months.

And yes, I know my hair looks like shit. Leave me alone. It was after work and it was wind blown from playing football. Shut up.

---------------

Don't forget about my contest. Deadline is next Friday.

---------------

I'm in the middle of Angel Season 1 right now and I had forgotten that Doyle died in the first season. I'm pissed all over again. I love Glenn Quinn. I loved him as Becky's husband Mark on "Roseanne".

---------------

It's 8:25 am and I'm already ready for a drink.

---------------

How's your Wednesday so far?

I Sipped From The Well And It Was Blah

I know I'm probably going to piss a lot of Edward obsessed fans off with this but you know what? It's my blog and I have an opinion about this.

I like all kinds of books and movies. I'm pickier about my books than movies, but when all is said and done, if it ENTERTAINS me, I'm happy.

I, like millions of other women waaaaaayyyy out of their teen years, read the Twilight saga.

All four books.

And, it was.....eh.

The storyline has a punch but the writing was quite frankly, juvenile.

However, it IS after all, a teen book. It was not written for adults.

So, I can forgive that and say in all honesty, I was entertained by the books.

Will I consider them in my top favs?

Nope. Not even close.

I did like them enough to want to see the movie when it came out.

However, due to lack of all encompassing interest, I never saw it in the theatre. And I was fine with that.

I did buy the DVD on Saturday. But not at midnight on Friday like millions of others.

More like 8 pm on Saturday night. There were still about 100 copies in the specially made bin that was placed ever so cleverly in the junior clothing department.

I did take it home and watch it that night. Started it around 11 pm or so but had to stop it and watch the rest in the morning as I was too tired to continue.

That should tell you something right there.

As far as movies go, it was fine. Not great, not horrible.

Just fine.

Kristen Stewart is a horrible actress. Robert Pattinson is not hot at all. At least not in the movie. I preferred him as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movie. There was NO emotional connection between the two. I blame Kristen for that.

They underutilized the character Jasper and the guy playing Jacob was a disappointment.

And as far as vampires go?

This......

is NOT a vampire.

This, however......

is.

And, really, who encompasses a vampire spirit more so than the one below:

Need I say more?

Who Would You Do?

I left the book at home.

But Captain Dumbass was bugging me on Twitter this morning about WWYD (not to be confused in ANY way with WWJD) and I felt nagged obligated to get off my virtual ass and post one.

So, just to punish him (and any others by proxy), this one is gonna be all about Johnny Depp.

Hahahahahahahaha. In your face, Captain.

You're given a choice to star opposite Johnny Depp in a sequel (or sequel to a sequel to a sequel) to ONE of his movies. With character would you most like to share an onscreen kiss (and possibly more)? Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands from Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

The blah, blah, blah part:

*Editor's Note---You HAVE to pick one of the choices. Even if you're a guy and the only choices are guys...same for girls...believe me, there are lots where it's only girls to choose from.

This'll teach you to piss off the Mama Dawg on a Monday morning.

Contest

OK guys. I'm having a give away.

But this time, you gotta work for it. Seriously. It's gonna require some actual thought.

Let me tell you a little story.

See, I've mentioned Mimi on here before. Hi, Mimi!

Anyway, on that one social media website that rhymes with spacelook, there was this one application that you could do that created a Redneck name for you.

Yes, yes, I know it's un-PC. I don't care.

So, Mimi did hers and it came up "Cooter Cornhauler".

Well, that set off the giggles fast and furious.

Then.....I did mine.

Meet "Bobbie-Jean Beaver".

For real.

Dead freakin' serious.

Needless to say, this brought in even more giggles.

We started going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth with the comments.

And then Mimi said "10-4 Beaver, this is Cooter calling."

That set me off like never before. I could not stop laughing.

Since I'm going to see Mimi in like 2 months, I decided to get us some tee shirts custom made that had something to do with a combo of the following:

Beaver
Cooter
"10-4 Beaver, this is Cooter calling."

However, we have so many ideas floating around, we can't seem to settle on one.

This is where you come in.

We need someone to come up with a tee shirt that incorporates AT A MINIMUM, that phrase.

However, you can incorporate the full names (Cooter Cornhauler and Bobbie Jean Beaver) or use anything else you can think of, including graphics and whatnot.

You also need to tell us where the whole shebang goes (only on the front, only on the back or a combo of on the front AND on the back).

Wanna know what the winner gets?

The satisfaction of helping us design a tee shirt.

Oh, and a $25 gift card to either Wal-Mart OR Target OR Barnes and Noble. Winner's choice.

And this is not gonna be a random generator contest.

Mimi will be the judge on this. Since she's not a blogger, she doesn't know any of y'all and can be objective. And not susceptible to bribes. Like someone I know.

So, y'all in?

If so, you need to e-mail me your idea. NO IDEAS IN THE COMMENTS, PLEASE. My e-mail address is twodogsrunningsouth at yahoo dot com.

This contest is open until April 2nd, 2009 at midnight.

Have fun and good luck.

Where I'm From

I am from bikes, backyard ditches, locusts shells and homemade decks, from Barbies, Oodles, Disney World, The Dukes of Hazzard and Clue and from parties thrown by my parents, found kittens, first sips of beer from my dad and sleepovers.

I am from the suburbs of Jackson, MS, from the brick house at the end of a street right across from the bus stop where Corey kicked me in the thigh and my mom went and cussed him out in private, from a room with dark yellow wallpaper with little blue flowers and twin beds, from a neighborhood in the ‘80’s where you could run from your house to your best friends house 2 houses down without encountering a fence or an angry old man, from a brand new stucco house in central Florida where I could walk to school, from a house where the beach and Disney World is only 45 minutes away, from a neighborhood where many of my friends lived within walking distance, from a house where my first pet disappeared, from a house in New Orleans (but not THAT house as depicted by The Animals) where my daughter was born, from a house that barely survived Hurricane Katrina, from a house where I had the most incredible neighbors, from a house that is a little crooked and in the country, from a house that I love more than any other, from a house where I got my first dog and where many, many memories will be made.

I am from the white dutch clover beds desperately searching for an elusive 4 leaf clover, the dandelions with their puffs blowing my wishes into the wind, the honeysuckle growing all over the neighbor’s fence where we would stand there and suck the nectar from hundreds of flowers, the onion weeds that grew everywhere and smelled so sweet that I just had to pick a bunch and present them to my mother with all the love I had in my little heart. I am from the gumball trees that caused me to make my first trip to the ER after slipping and falling on one while playing in Amy Wooten’s backyard, from the ditch that ran behind the houses in the neighborhood where we would catch minnows, frogs, crawfish and the occasional snake or turtle.

I am from crackers at Christmas, from walking on the dining room chairs at Christmas dinner before everyone sat down and eating an olive every time we passed the relish tray, from eating Twinkies with my Paw-Paw, from eating Werther’s candy at my other Paw-Paw’s house and from going away for the weekend for Mother’s day.

I am from stubbornness that runs in our family, from not listening to anyone when they’re talking, from the “I’m always right” mentality, from the generosity of pocketbooks and time, from the always there for you no matter what family, from the creative and funny mother.

I am from mom, Mee-Maw, Frissy, Candy, Sonny, Paw-Paw, Maw-Maw and Pete.
I am from the we always talk over one another family and from the no one wants to do anything until it’s almost too late family. I am from the “I’ll drop what I’m doing to help you in a crisis” and from the “I love you” family.

From the “always wear clean underwear” and “Tootiebug, Tupeliten and Turkey Turd” as terms of endearment family.

I am from the family that claims to be religious of a sort but never goes to church. I am from a family that doesn’t understand my hesitation to get involved in an organized religion. I am from a family that even though they don’t understand my hesitation, the don’t bother me about it.

I'm from Jackson, MS and am a Heinz 57. I am English, Norwegian and a bunch of other stuff. I am fried green tomatoes, catfish and butterscotch pie. None of which represent anything other than my Southern heritage.

I am me.

Out Of Ideas

Y'all.

I'm in a funk.

I don't want to do any meme's.

I don't want to do interviews.

I need something to write about.

I actually have a few ideas, but I'm not in the mood to write about them right now. Or, I can't get any motivation.

Y'all give me some ideas.

Anyone have anything they're desperately wanting to know about me?

Anyone have anything they're desperately wanting me to write about?

No topic is off limits.

For real.

Help a bloggy sista out here, will ya?

Thanks, I knew I could count on you guys.

Disney World, Here We Come! Batten Down the Hatches!

Well, it's done.

My "every two years cause that's the only way I can afford it" Disney trip is BOOKED!

I am beside myself with excitement. We'll even be there on my birthday! That makes me beside myself squared! I can't wait til June!

Yes, yes, it's corny. Shut up. I'm over the moon, mad crazy excited.

I absolutely love going to a place where literally, I forget all the bad stuff that goes on in my day to day life. The minute I step foot on Disney property, it all melts away.

There truly is something magical about that place.

I'm a Disney person through and through.

I know of people that their reaction to someone booking a Disney vacation is "eh, whatever" and that's fine.

But I'm not one of those people. I'm hardcore Disney. I'm more of a theme park and history buff than movies and TV shows and whatnot.

For those of you that aren't, don't bother telling me what you believe is wrong with Disney. I don't care. I've heard and read it all.

I still love it.

As most of you know, I actually was a Cast Member there from Feb '95 to Dec '95. I worked at Tony's Town Square Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. It was the one modeled after "Lady and the Tramp".

I LOVED working there. I met one of my most favorite people on Earth there. Hiya, Mimi! Love you! Can't wait to spend 5 fabulous days with you and the boys! So friggin' thrilled and excited.

Anyway, I've adored Disney ever since then.

LOML's first trip was back in 2005. She was 5 and had a blast! She remembers most of the trip. We went back when she was 7 and she remembers more of the trip than I do!

And...she totally gets Disney. I have managed to successfully turn her into a Disney fan.

Thanks to the lovely people at the IRS, we get to take our "every two years cause that's the only way I can afford it" Disney trip this year.

However, we're BARELY able to go. My return wasn't that great and due to the fact that I'm working a job that pays me just over HALF of what I was making before uprooting my life and living here, we haven't been able to save like we were before. I always tried to save $100 a month (for 18 months) in preparation for our trip. That way, we don't have to worry about scrimping and saving and taking Pop-Tarts to eat for breakfast and not eating at sit down restaurants and all that.

But, not this year. This year, we're able to go, but we will definitely be taking Pop-Tarts and snacks and whatnot.

Now, the past two times I've gone, I've done all the booking myself. Joined AAA to get a reduction on my room rate and purchased the tickets through the Disney store in the mall.

We don't do the dining plan because we eat so light. Seriously, mom, LOML and I can share a giant turkey leg, some fries and a couple of drinks and still not be able to eat it all. Plus, sitting down for a meal takes away from park time, y'all. Can't have that! We're not there for the food anyway.

So, since I've been blogging, I've "met" lots of nice people here and found out that Jen over at The Daily Mish Mash is actually an authorized Disney travel agent! How great!

In a casual tweet to her one day, I asked if she could give me a quote.

And......she said sure!

I threw out my (affordable) dream trip at her and asked her what she could do for me.

And wow! Did she not disappoint. She came through like gangbusters for me.

As most of you with televisions know, Disney is offering 3 nights free with a booking of 4 nights.

However, this wasn't long enough for us. We needed a longer stay.

The numbers I was coming up with were do-able, but EXTREMELY tight for our spending budget. I mean SERIOUSLY tight. Almost to the point where we would be miserable due to lack of good food and barely any souvenirs.

The numbers Jen came up with?

Totally rocked!!!

Don't get me wrong. It's still tight for us. Still need the Pop-Tarts....but, we were able to get 9 nights and 8 day park hopper passes for far less than what I could have gotten on my own.

Because she saved me some money, I was then able to book the Princess breakfast in Norway (my fav meal there EVER...the food that's served at the table is typical breakfast food...eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, etc....but the buffet that serves Norwegian food? TO DIE FOR!!! Smoked salmon, capers, onion, tomatoes, lefsa, etc......oh, man, I'm drooling just thinking about it!), get one sit down dinner at The Brown Derby in DHS and one sit down lunch at The Brown Derby in DHS (can you tell we like The Brown Derby?).

Before her numbers came back, that was not a possibility. And that would have bummed me out.

Not only did she come through on the numbers, but she also put up with my crazy requests.

She had booked my ADR (advance dining reservations) requests and gotten them for the days and times I had requested.

Then, I e-mailed her needing to add on 3 people (Mimi and her boys).

She did that for me lickety split.

Then, I e-mailed her again needing to add on one more person to that ADR (Mimi's mom is going to join us that day!).

With a smile in her Internet voice, she got right back to me with just a slight change in time and was able to get it done!

THAT, my friends, is customer service.

And best of all, the quote and all the work she did for me DIDN'T COST ME A CENT!

Since she's an authorized Disney travel agent, she gets paid by Disney...not the customer!

It's a win, win for everyone!

Because she did such an excellent job for me and performed some incredible customer service, I told her I'd do a blog post highlighting her and her skillz.

If you want to book a Disney Vacation through Jen, you can go here to her site: Enchanted Escapes.

She also does regular vacations to through the same site. But click here for regular vacations.

You can tell her I sent you. It doesn't get me anything, but it's still nice to drop my name.

You can feel important then! LOL!

I'm taking requests now for anyone that wants me to take a picture of a sign with their name on it at a specific place within the Disney parks.

My friend Jaymie wants me to take a pic at the Animation Academy.

I plan on posting them here on the blog after the vacation when I do a trip wrap up.

Who Would You Do?

Blah Monday morning all.

The only good thing about today so far is that it's gonna get in the high 60's. Yay! Otherwise, it's a typical Monday.

Guys, you're welcome for today's choices on "Who Would You Do?" (book by Susan Segrest).

Forget high speed car chases and exotic martial arts- Angelina Jolie and Michelle Yeoh have invited you to participate in some good old fashioned hand to hand hot combat. Who do you disappoint?

Birthday Party

So, LOML's birthday party was on Saturday. It was held at my uncle's house. Like last year.

This year, it was game themed. We had all sorts of games to play. Checkers, Connect Four, Twister, Clue, cards, Trouble, etc...

The kids seemed to have a blast. They did actually play most of the games. Their favorites, however, were Twister, PoKeNo and oddly enough, Hide N Go Seek!

I love that they went old skool!

When they all got there, they were running around for a bit and then settled down and played some games. After a while, we all had something to eat (brownies, cupcakes, cheese puffs, chips and dip and punch) and then she opened her presents.

The kid got $124! That's more cash than I EVER carry! LOL! I asked her for a loan but she said no. I tried to convince her that she owed me $50 but she didn't bite.

Oh, well. I tried.

She also got a kite, some homemade cookies, a gift card to Barnes & Noble (one of her FAVORITE stores), a gift card to Sonic, 2 teddy bears, a pair of toe socks, a puzzle, some make-up and HSM3. I gave her one of the teddy bears, the movie Ever After and an I.O.U. for a fancy watch of her choice.

The girl racked up!

After presents, we got to the REAL fun of the party.

The scavenger hunt!

The prize for the first person to get all the clues was a $10 gift card to Wal-Mart. The kids were more excited about that than all the sugar they were allowed to consume!

I actually had to come up with 11 rhyming clues AND I had to make sure that the kids weren't all going to the same clue at the same time. That's more difficult than it sounds, let me tell you.

I handed out the first clue to each kid and they were off.

I also try to make them actually think about their clue. I don't tell them EXACTLY where to go. They have to actually figure it out for themselves.

Let me tell you, the girls were all over the clues. They had them figured out like it was nothing. The boys, however, needed LOTS of help!

In the end, one of LOML's good friends was the winner. I was so impressed because she didn't need ANY help from any adults on the clues. She did it entirely all by herself.

Here's a few pics from the party.

Posing for the camera.

The kids playing games.

LOML and a boy from her class (that turned BRIGHT RED when she opened his present which was one of the teddy bears! It was soooooo funny). She told me later that he likes her.....

.....which this boy doesn't like too much. This is LOML's "boyfriend" of almost 2 years. Yep, 2 years. He laid claim on her the first day she walked in their second grade classroom and hasn't let go of her since. He is the sweetest little boy EVER. He gives her sweet presents and actually TALKS to her when he sees her.

Here's two of the kids playing Twister.

More Twister pics.

Here's a pic of the kids getting a clue during the scavenger hunt.

They were also into climbing all the trees all over the property.

All in all, a good time was had by all.

I can't wait til next year!

Who Would You Do?

Good Monday morning guys and gals. For some reason, I'm in a good mood. Could be because I did my taxes on Friday and it turns out we have enough to go to Disney this year! Yay! Soooooo excited. Just working on getting reservations now. Plus, I just may be the ONLY person that this time change is not bothering. They never bother me and I don't know why.

Anyway, on to what you came here for today. "Who Would You Do?" (book by Susan Segrest).

Emeril Lagasse wants to lay you down on his stainless steel prep counter and tenderize every inch of your body. (Bam!) Bobby Flay has offered to baste your bare flesh with an orange marmalade beurre blanc sauce and then really get cooking with you. Jamie Oliver just wants to pour on a little olive oil and start feasting. Who would you do?

Loads O' Crap

How come I always have brilliant ideas for a blog post when I’m in the crapper?

And to top it off, by the time I wipe, pull up my panties and whatnot, wash my hands and get back to my desk, I’ve completely forgotten it.

Do I need to start taking a notebook and pen or a voice recorder into the pot with me? How funny would that be?

“Ok, remember that one time that you worked at a strip club and that guy came over to you and sa…” *speaking into the recorder*

*knock, knock*

“Ummmm…are you okay in there?” (unseen person on the other side of the door)

“Huh? Oh, yeah. I’m fine. Just talking to myself.”
*blushing*

See, that just wouldn’t work.

Sigh……

---------------

Have any of you heard of Lily Allen? She’s a brilliant singer from England. She has this one song called “Not Big”.

Now, I’m not a man hater by any means. I love men. I simply adore them. I’d love you too, but you know, proximity being what it is with blogs, you’re out of luck on that end.

Wait, I don’t think I know any single male bloggers.

Take back that last statement.

Anywho, here’s a clip of the song. I simply adore it. I think it’s a hilarious revenge song.

Ladies, are you with me?

Yeah. Yeah, you are. I can see you all *nodding* your heads along. (Kat, that one's for you, my England buddy)

---------------

I have discovered two new bloggers.

Y'all need to go and check them out.

Seriously. They rock.

Dave over at Accumulative Dimunitive is my new bloggy crush. His posts blow me away. They're a mix of Ryan over at the Pacing the Panic Room and Captain Dumbass over at Us and Them.

A perfect combo in my opinion.

And his friend, Charles, JUST started his blog. I love the title, Chicken In The Bread Pan. So, hop on board now. I have a feeling his train is going to shoot out of the station fast. (not a euphemism for premature ejaculation, y'all. At least, not this time. Get your heads out of the gutter).

Have a good Friday y'all. I'm here but not. It's my day off. This is pre-posted.

Yeah, I suck. Who cares? You get to read this lovely little gem of a post.

I have to organize a scavanger hunt for LOML's party on Saturday. Wish me luck!

Toothpaste On My Belly

(I got nuttin' today.....so this is a re-post from 2008, enjoy!)

Did you know it was possible to get toothpaste dribble on your belly?

It is.

Especially when you've just gotten out of the shower, your buck ass nekkid, you're in the middle of brushing your teeth and one of your cats (yeah, I'll call him out, it was J.D.) comes by and bites you on the ankle making you jump right as you're about to spit.

Yeah, it's possible to get toothpaste dribble on your belly.

That White Fluffy Stuff

Dudes........

........it snowed. For real. In Mississippi.

It started late night on the 28th and it literally COVERED THE GROUND!

We were so excited.

We had had predictions of it but you know how weather men are. They're usually wrong.

But, nope.

Not this time.

We had SNOW!!!!!!

It actually snowed last year around this time, too.

LOML claims it's her early birthday present from Mother Nature since her birthday is next week.

I don't disagree with her.

This was Max's first snow.

I had to take a video to commemorate the occasion.

And, as usual, I had to take tons of pics.

Here's Max. He found himself some trash. No surprise there. The yard is usually littered with crap he's found.

He looks so proud of himself.

Here's LOML all bundled up. Look at those rosy cheeks!

I love the look of holly berries and snow. The epitome of winter in my opinion.

Here's LOML and our dogged attempt at a snow-person. We named her Gloria. Gloria has since passed on. Or Max ate her. One of the two.

If you look at my header, you'll see this is the same path that you can see through the window. I love the view from LOML's room.

Here's LOML making a snow angel.

Here's the result. She was so proud.

I triple dog dared her. She accepted. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the car is fiberglass and not metal. Shhhhhh!!!!

Here's the view of our house from the other side of the highway. Look at all that snow!

We had such a blast.
My mom collected some snow and made snowcream. She used milk, vanilla and sugar. It was delish.

Here's a vid of LOML eating snowcream.

Mom then made homemade pancakes, sausage and eggs for us. We decided to make it a snow day and stayed in our p.j.'s for almost the entire day.

I will say that as much fun as it was, I could NOT handle that day after day. All that tracked in snow and mud? No thank you.

In other news, I got a call from a friend last night with some awesome news. The Army captain just found out that he's going to be company command of the 122 men in Charlie company. This is a HUGE milestone for him in his Army career and I'm so happy for him. He sounds excited about this milestone. He gets a ceremony and everything. I am sooooo proud of him. He's come such a long way since high school. His news put a smile on my face and it hasn't left yet. I love it when good things happen to people I care about. Of course, the downside to this means that he's going to Afghanistan in late summer. That I don't care for, but it's where he wants to be. So, I'll suck up my fear and support him in every way possible. I forsee lots and lots of letters and care packages over the next year.

-----------------------

I am bummed about one thing.

My friend Jess over at This Life Is Mine is gone for a WHOLE WEEK!!! I don't know if I can stand it.

She's my rock when I'm at work.

Sigh.....Jess.....come back soon. I'm bored.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Who Would You Do?

Sooooooo, it's Monday again.

Funny how that comes around every 7 days, huh?

Had a rockin' weekend. Post up tomorrow about that.

Here's your Monday morning dose of "Who Would You Do?" (book by Susan Segrest).

The bad news is that you absolutely suck at gym class. The good news? Two new instructors, Gabrielle Reece and Steffi Graf are eager to help you be all that you can be. Who do you choose?

And as usual:

*Editor's Note---You HAVE to pick one of the choices. Even if you're a guy and the only choices are guys...same for girls...believe me, there are lots where it's only girls to choose from.
