Trumped by a Thumb

This past weekend, we had a full one. We went to the big city on Saturday and ended up spending all day there. Went to the mall, Old Navy, Hobby Lobby, etc....Ate at the food court in the mall for lunch and then ate at Cracker Barrel for dinner. I love Cracker Barrel. Especially their french toast on sourdough bread with maple syrup and turkey sausage. Yum.

On Friday, we went over to the neighbors to say "Hey". We ended up staying til about 10, so it was a long "hey" that included dinner. L makes good hamburgers and he burned the hot dogs just for me! Yay, L!!! I don't know why, but I love burned grilled hot dogs, sausage, etc...I guess it's the "grilled" flavor that I like. Anyway, it was B, L, their two kids, mom, light of my life and my landlord's daughter, H.

For some reason, we got on the topic of babies being born. L had a funny story about C being born. They were told that they were having a boy. Like most parents, I'm sure that they knew it wasn't 100% until the baby came out, but everyone was pretty certain she was a boy. B had the baby and when L got to see it, they had told him they had had a girl. He didn't believe them and told them to take the diaper off to prove it. It was a funny story (it's funnier to see L tell the story) and we all laughed. L was feeling pretty good about his funny story but then a 13 year old girl was actually able to top him.

H said that when she was born, the doctor held H in his hands. One of his hands was holding her by her bottom. He had his four fingers on her rear and the thumb was sticking up between her legs in the front. H's dad, Ch, whooped and hollared because he had a baby boy!!!! He was so excited until the doctor calmly said, "Son, that's my thumb". We all busted out laughing. Ch is this big strapping lumberjack looking guy and to picture this story in our head was more than we could handle.

Poor L. His story, funny in its own right, was trumped by a thumb.

Later,

Mama Dawg
